What are the sizes of your soap bars?

Our standard soap bars are approx. 1″ thick, 2.5″ wide, and 3.25″ tall. Each bar weighs about 4.8oz. As with any handmade product, not all bars will be alike, but these are the standard guidelines we follow when crafting our soaps.

What ingredients are used in your products?

The answer to this depends on which product you are referring to. In general, we are committed to only using sustainable and safe ingredients that are responsibly sourced from reputable suppliers. Each product listed on our website includes an ingredients tab, so be sure to check that out if you would like to know what’s in the product you are purchasing. Additionally, we follow strict labeling guidelines and each product sold will come with ingredient and instruction labels as required by law.

How do eGift Cards work?

Do you sell or give out personal or business information to third parties?

Absolutely not. We value your business and closely guard your privacy. Each employee of Medici Soap Company is bound by a non-disclosure agreement that specifically prohibits the dissemination of customer information.

How long will it take for my order to ship?

1-3 business days is the standard processing time for the majority of orders and 2-4 days during seasons of peak volume Some orders may be delayed 1-3 additional days depending on order volume and inventory. For more info on our processing and shipping policies, please click HERE.

*NOTE: We sell only Cold Process soap, which typically requires a full cure time of about 4 weeks to fully harden. We create our products PRIOR to listing them for sale on our website, so you can rest assured that any items you see online are available and ready for shipping.

What is GMO Free?

GMO stands for Genetically Modified Organism. They are common plants that have been genetically modified to have certain traits such as drought or chemical resistance. We do not use any GMO ingredients in any of our products.

Do you ship internationally?

Due to customs issues and the nature of our products, we currently ship within the United States only. This includes U.S. territories and APO/FPO/DPO addresses.

Are soaps fully cured before they are shipped?

Yes. Our soaps are fully cured and ready for use before we ship them. This ensures that your soap is properly hardened and will last.

  • Currently we only ship to addresses in the United States, U.S. territories, and APO/FPO/DPO.
  • Free Shipping is available to addresses in the Contiguous US Lower 48 states on orders over $100.
  • HI, AK, PR, and Virgin Island customers, please note that some products may not be shipped to your region due to air freight restrictions and/or damage concerns. These products will be clearly marked on their respective pages.
  • Please be aware that shipping to hot and humid climates and prolonged exposure to high temperatures during shipment may cause damage to soap and other sensitive products such as lotions, lip balms, etc.
Order Processing

Processing times for stocked items is usually 1-3 business days. We are a small business, so during times of peak demand, processing times may extend to 3-5 days.

NOTE: Our website does not display out of stock items, so if you are able to add it to your shopping cart, we have it in stock.

Shipping Carriers

Whenever possible, we prefer to ship with the United States Post Office using Flat Rate Shipping containers as this is the fastest and most cost effective method of shipping at this time. In rare instances, we will ship using First Class Mail or another carrier, such as FedEx or UPS if it makes better financial sense to do so. Regardless, rest assured that your package will arrive safely, within a reasonable time frame, and will always include a tracking number.

Local Delivery Orders

If you live in the Tifton, Georgia (Tift County) area you now have the option to place an order for local delivery! Simply add products to your shopping cart as usual, and once you have entered your address with a Tift County ZIP code you will see a few new options under Shipping and Payments, including pay upon delivery which allows you to completely bypass the payment system and pay with cash upon delivery of your order.

These options are based on the ZIP code, so if you do not see the updated options be sure your ZIP code is correct and is a Tift County ZIP code.

Claims

Damaged Goods:

On occasion, some of our products may arrive damaged for what ever reason. We will gladly replace damaged goods or credit you for the items, whatever seems best for the situation. We will require proof of damaged goods by use of a digital camera image submitted within 24 hours of delivery time.

Incorrect Products:

Unfortunately, mistakes do happen. If you receive an incorrect product, please contact us as soon as possible. We are more than happy to correct our mistake and make sure you receive the correct product(s).

Lost Packages:

If a package is lost in shipment, please contact us as soon as possible with your tracking number and report that your package has been lost in transit to you. We will the contact the carrier to get things sorted out and get a replacement order shipped to you.

**All claims for damaged, missing, or incorrect products must be filed within 24 hours of receiving your package. If filing after this time frame, Medici Soap Company will not be held liable for these issues.**

Returns

For items correctly shipped to the customer based on your order specifications: Our products are handmade and many are made to order, including bath salts, lip balms and other items. For this reason, we do not automatically offer a refund for these products if you would like to return them. However, if the product is not as described, we will gladly hear your case and a return will be considered, usually in the form of store credit. In either case the customer will likely be responsible for return shipping costs. If a return is accepted, a 25% restocking fee may be applied. To request a Return, click HERE.

For items incorrectly shipped to you: If for some reason we ship you an item that you did not order or that was not processed in the way you requested, please Contact Us within the first 24 hours of delivery and submit a Claim. We will be more than happy to correct our mistake at no extra cost to you.

Any items that are opened or altered by the customer after being received may not be returned or refunded.

Additions to Orders

Unfortunately, once an order has been submitted and paid for, we cannot add anything to that order. You will need to submit a new order if you wish to purchase additional products.

Order Cancellations

An order may be cancelled if the order has not yet shipped. If the order has been shipped, no cancellations will be available. Cancelled orders are subject to a 25% restocking fee and are deducted from your refund. No refund will be given for made-to-order items that are cancelled after they have been made.

Handmade

This is a term used to suggest the soap is processed by hand, usually in small batches. Handmade soap is not necessarily “all natural” (by our definition) as it can include some synthetic oil blends and other ingredients, which is why we always label our products “All-Natural” or “Vegan” or “Organic.” Some companies may use this term loosely and may simply use “melt and pour soap” (commonly called glycerin soap) and call it handmade soap because they mixed a bit of color and fragrance into it by hand. All of our soap is truly handmade from scratch and we NEVER use melt and pour soap in any element of our soap making process.

All-Natural

Natural soap is defined many ways by many different companies/individuals. We differentiate our soaps as “all-natural” when they contain no synthetic (man-made) materials. Example: most soaps contain “fragrance” which is a synthetic/man-made chemical. However, Essential Oils are the natural version of fragrance, in that, they are highly aromatic fluids taken from nature (plant leaf, flower petals, tree bark, etc.). We try to stay as natural as possible even when synthetic fragrances are used. For example, even though we add synthetic fragrances to some of our soaps doesn’t mean that we throw in a bunch of preservatives and dyes as well . We still try to use herbs/clays first, and if we cannot achieve a satisfactory color with these we’ll use water based pigments and/or micas.

In the end, one soap may be a bit more or less natural than another soap, and for each person it may be more the question of the larger (or smaller) ingredients and especially the processing (soap making method) that is real teller of the quality. Regardless, any soaps labelled as “All-Natural” were made using purely natural ingredients and nothing man-made.

Organic

Whenever you see something labelled as “Organic” on our website, it means that the product was crafted using up to 85% organic ingredients. Why not 100%? Well, Sodium Hydroxide, or Lye, cannot be organic. While this ingredient is “technically” removed during the process known as Saponification, we choose to leave it on the ingredients list because we are firm believers in transparency; it is an ingredient used in the process, therefore we feel it should be included on the list. 85% is, by industry standards, the approximate amount that certified cosmetic companies are required to contain to boast the “Organic” seal.

Vegan

When most people think of the word “Vegan” they thing of a person who doesn’t eat animal products. So how does this label apply to soaps and other bath and body products? If a product is labeled “Vegan” it means that no ingredients were derived from animals, nor were animals used in the creation process. These products are totally animal-free on all levels.

That’s not to say that our non-Vegan products are created at the expense of an animal. On the contrary, we are animal lovers here at Medici Soap Company and we make a point to always double-check that our sources of ingredients are animal-friendly as well as environmentally friendly. This means our goats milk soaps are crafted using milk from happy goats, while our palm oils and Shea butters are sourced from reputable fair trade companies.

Is it free to create a Customer Account?

It is totally FREE to create a Customer Account with us. Simply click HERE to go to the sign up page and enter your email address and create a password. Once done you will be redirected to your new Account Dashboard where you can access order history, update your personal information such as shipping and billing addresses to speed up check out, etc.

I forgot my account password/login credentials

It happens. In fact, we do it all the time. If you are unable to log into your account, simply click HERE to complete a password reset. You will need access to the email account that you signed up with to complete the reset process.

Can you move my old orders to a new account?

Unfortunately we are unable to move or reassign orders to accounts. This also applies if you were to complete an order without being logged into your account; it would have to remain a guest order as we are unable to move the order to your account.

How do I update my account information?

To update your account information, such as shipping and billing addresses, cards on file, name, and password you will need to access your Account Dashboard. Once logged into your Dashboard, you will see buttons for Account Details and Addresses. Simply click those buttons and use the forms located within to update your information.
